Why go with the Submersible Turbine Generator Advantage?
Submersible turbine generator (STG) installations bring advantages conventional turbines cannot supply.
No Powerhouse
STGs do not need a powerhouse. As a result construction costs are reduced. All that is required is a smaller control housing structure, which can be located at a distance from the submersible installation.
Easy Installation
STGs are simple to install, remove and service. The STG unit holds in place under its own weight and water pressure, during operation. Stop the flow and the unit can be removed for inspection, blade adjustments and servicing.
Small Installation Space
The STG unit is an all-in-one package and as a result, it utilizes space more efficiently than conventional hydroelectric installations.
Flood-proof
A conventional generator is not designed for exposure to water or submergence. An STG unit is always in the water. Where units are installed, plant floods are no longer a concern.
Low running sound
As the STG unit is always in water, the running sound is dampened significantly by the water. This is a valuable advantage in developments where multipurpose usage, such as in parks and other touristed sites, is a concern.
